Benefits of Demotivated Employees

When you think about it, the success of any part of your business is almost always traced back to an engaged workforce. From productivity and profitability to recruitment and retention, hardworking and happy employees are thought of as an image leader, which should lead to success.

Unfortunately, motivated employees are few and far between and motivating people is an art far from an exact science. It’s hard, it’s not a secret formula, or some calculation, or filling out a worksheet. In fact, motivation can be as individual as the employees who work for you. One employee may be driven only by money while another may appreciate being praised for the work they have done. Yet another may work harder if he can share in the profits of the business. That’s why, the way to promote someone may not work for others and the truth is that most companies can’t afford to make a lot of money by doing this job.

But you can reduce employee motivation in one basic area – finding out what your employees want and finding a way to give it to them or let them get it. This may require a lot of useless effort and expense, because all motivation may be temporary.

You can find unemployed workers almost everywhere. Very few companies employ a fully dedicated workforce, because most employers cannot pay decent wages or treat their employees well. Violation of rights and benefits and feelings of deprivation can also lead to humiliation.

There are many signs of disinterested employees. Nowadays, one of the persistent problems faced by managers and executives is motivating their employees. And regardless of all the work done on all the motivational strategies that have been developed, motivating employees is almost always a problem that needs a solution.

Well what I believe and what my experience tells me is a little different. The problem is trying to motivate employees, but what seems better is that you should try to motivate your employees. There are usually seven signs of disinterested employees as follows:

The first sign of a disinterested employee is feeling powerless. Employees who feel powerless in their lives tend to be less satisfied. Because they feel like they have no control over their lives, they feel like anything they do can create bigger problems than the ones they’re currently dealing with, so they tend to be content with whatever they have.

The second characteristic of a disinterested employee is that they often feel like they are victims of a hostile future. They feel that any change they can make is like getting into more trouble. Therefore, because of this fear of change they tend to be very loyal to the organization. This can save the company a lot of money. Because of their loyalty, turnover is reduced and because of reduced profits, the company saves money. Hiring new employees is often more expensive due to training costs. Although new employees are very excited, optimistic, and enthusiastic about the new job, they still have a lot to learn. He knows the basics about who knows who and who knows what, and the dos and don’ts of corporate politics. All this happens at the expense of the company, until the employee is productive, it is an additional cost.

Unfortunately, as an employee becomes more skilled, the wind goes out of the motivational sails and as a result boredom, stress and apathy sets in. These workers are still doing their job but productivity is decreasing and possibly decreasing. Such employees may start to miss work, be late, complain more, make mistakes, be at risk, and even start getting sick. Time seems to take effect for a variety of reasons.

A third symptom of a disinterested employee is that they feel low in self-confidence. By now we’ve all been taught that low self-esteem is a bad thing. But the benefit of this is that it eliminates the need for employee recognition. Employees with low self-esteem tend to avoid being noticed. So the last thing they want is an admissions process, and we know how expensive these processes can be. So eliminating those usually helps the bottom line.

The fourth sign of a disinterested employee is intense defensiveness. Because of their sense of security, they do extra work as a way of ingratiating themselves to their superiors. Now anytime you can get an employee to do extra work, without complaints or problems, that’s a good thing.

The fifth symptom is that employees feel insecure. Because of their low self-esteem, they will work very hard as a way to save their identity. Most of such people are workaholics who try to re-introduce themselves at work, by putting themselves at work.

The sixth sign of demotivated employees is that employees often feel emotionally unstable. Now, this is very important, because employees don’t want to feel bad about themselves, and therefore they will work harder to avoid being demoted. Although they tend to avoid seeking praise, they will work very hard to avoid humiliation. They will work faster and better than others.

And then the seventh sign of de-motivated workers is a great aversion to danger. And this is very important, because employees do not want to take any risk themselves. They will be content with just being an extension of the administration’s ambitions. Because of that, they will do whatever you ask, and that’s really what employers want.
